Legacy Elementary

Betsy Drew, Legacy Elementary Principal
  • Dear Parent/Guardian,

We have come to the end of the 2017-2018 school year. It seems each year the school year goes by faster and faster. We finally have some warm days and the students are loving the sunshine and shorts.

We have had a busy school year. Our focus in each classroom throughout this school year was to always provide opportunities for students to grow in confidence as a learner, have fun while learning and to provide an environment where students look forward to returning to school each day.

We continued with our Manners Matter program and acknowledged positive student behavior daily. Students demonstrated making the right choice in the classroom, hallway, lunchroom and playground. It is easy to catch Legacy students demonstrating kindness toward each other because they know it is the right thing to do. I would like to share a comment made about our Legacy students. As I was visiting with an adult who had spent the afternoon at Legacy, she shared, “I have never seen such polite elementary students.” What a compliment to the students, faculty, staff, and to each of you as a parent.

Our focus on attendance this school year has been a success! As parents you have made the difference. It is a benefit to your child to begin her/his day with classmates. Thank you for recognizing the importance of your child arriving on time. As I have shared before, good attendance provides the best chance for success throughout your child’s school year and future.

Again, thank you for your commitment to your child’s education. My hope is that your summer allows rejuvenation for your family. Please take time to enjoy fun in the sun with your family and friends.

Have a Safe and Happy Summer!

    Ms. Betsy Drew, Legacy Principal
